Dulcijo
The dulcijo is a often described as a cross between a banjo and a mountain dulcimer. For practical purposes, it is a mountain dulcimer that can be played standing up. The strings are in reverse order from a mountain dulcimer. Though playing fast songs is difficult - the frets are spaced further apart that a mountain dulcimer - it is easier to wander around and jam. Cara-Anne's dulcijo was handmade for her by Johnny Jackson of Pocahontus, TN. The body is tear-drop shaped and is significantly louder than that of a mountain dulcimer. The red wood seen in the fretboard and around the sound hole is from Africa.
