Cara-Anne stumbled across this instrument at a Civil War reenactment. It is very unique in both its shape and sound. Bowed Psalteries come in various sizes with different numbers of strings. The strings run parallel to each other from the edges of the triangle to the base. It is played with a bow one note at a time - making it the simplest folk instrument to play in the world. For those familiar with a piano: the strings on the right side of the triangle are all the white keys (or natural notes) while those on the left side are all the black keys (sharps/flats). Simple though it may be, the sound is incredibly angelic.
